The interesting shape of the building is derived from the opportunity to expose the internal rooms to the garden and optimise the aspect with lots of natural daylighting. Furthermore, the L shape breaks down the scale of the buildings into two simple forms that are contextual in scale to the surrounding buildings and the pitched form responds to the surrounding context within a conservation area.
