Following a positive pre-application we have recently submitted a planning application for a new 1200m2 contemporary

house in Seer Green, Buckinghamshire.

The scheme consists of a series white brick/stone blocks which are separated by a courtyards which are connected to the

1.4 hectares of land beyond.

Following an Architect’s Journal competition, we were selected from a longlist of 26 to a shortlist of 4.

All 4 shortlisted entries were asked to submit designs for the refurbishment and extension of a Grade II listed house, in greenbelt and AONB.

Following the design submission, we were selected as the winning entry.

The design followed a very simple principle, in conservation preserve the elements that have historic value and remove those they do not.

The new insertions are to be respectful of the existing but contemporary, so not to try to replicate the historic fabric.
