Planning has been granted to convert a 1 bedroom cottage into a 4 bedroom cottage in Frieth, Buckinghamshire.

The new elements take reference from the vernacular of the existing, white brick and cedar shingles.

In addition, we have created a contemporary yet contextual addition to the side

RIBA international competition ‘The answered prayer wall” –  a new sculpture made from one million bricks

each having an answered prayer engraved on it.  Following 133 entries from 24 different countries, we have

been longlisted to the last 25. The shortlist of 4 will be announced on the 7th Feb at a Parliamentary reception.

Following a thorough analysis of the existing house and by applying a strategic thought process for the

pre-application in collaboration with the Planning Authority,  we managed to secure substantial permitted development.  

Whilst at the same time, through a process of demolition and addition we have managed to improve the functionality

and visual appearance of the house with a successful planning application.
